Film Festivals

Kids is almost completed and I'm beginning to go through the lists of film festivals on withoutabox. The Florida ones are obvious choices, but I am not sure which ones to choose from the other states or countries for that matter. Do any of you all have any suggestions as to which ones I should forget about and which ones I should focus on getting into? Or does it matter in your opinion? Should I just submit to as many as I can regardless of their reputation?

Thanks,

Sean

A Quiet Farewell Screening

My short film A Quiet Farewell is going to be screened at the Love Your Shorts Film Festival in Sanford Florida.

http://www.loveyourshorts.com/

Films are divided into blocks and at the end of each block the audience votes for their favorite, except for Best of the Festival. This year’s blocks are: Opening Night, “E” for Everyone, Documentary, Animation, Comedy, Sci-Fi / Horror, Drama, Florida Flavor, Best of the Festival.

At the end of each block, the winner is announced on the spot and given a Monroe award. The Monroe awards are original pieces of metal artwork designed by Julie Kessler. Winning films are then screened at the final block where a group of film industry professionals select the film that will win the Monroe award for Best of the Festival.

The film will be shown during the 3:00pm shorts block, Florida Flavor. It would be really awesome if you all came out and voted for us.

The tickets for our screening block (Florida Flavor) are only 8 dollars and you can purchase them here:

Now to begin.

Hi all,

My name is Sean Osorio. I am a student filmmaker studying film at the University of Central Florida.

I've written and directed several short films. Two of them (Quiet Time and A Quiet Farewell) can be found on here. A Quiet Farewell has been featured in a couple of film festivals and received critical acclaim in Europe.

Through this blog I hope to gain recognition for my films, crew, and actors. I also want to document my filmmaking experiences on here.

I hope you enjoy my films(I'd love to get your feedback) and hope you all will follow me.

Thanks very much,

Sean Osorio
